About me

Hi, I’m Holly — documentary photographer, professional observer, and someone who genuinely believes photographs are time machines!

My approach is simple: whatever I’m photographing, it isn’t a photoshoot, it’s your life. My job is to help you feel completely at ease, forget I’m there, and step in only when I’m needed. I blend into the background to capture real, connected, in-between moments…the ones you didn’t even realise were happening.

Whether it’s a wedding day, a growing family, a milestone event or a quiet maternity session, my focus is always the same: genuine connection and honest storytelling.

Why I do this

Photography is a moment in time.

As I’ve got older, I’ve realised just how powerful photographs really are. They’re more than images, they’re physical evidence of how something felt.

My grandparents’ wedding photos mean so much to me. I wasn’t there, of course, but through those images I can see them as they were seen all those years ago. I can see the connection they had, not just with each other but with their parents, my great grandparents. There’s one photograph where my nan gently grabs my great grandad’s arm. It’s such a small gesture, but it tells me everything about their relationship. The warmth. The closeness. The familiarity.

Those photographs matter deeply to me, even though I didn’t attend the day.

That’s the power of photography. It allows you to step into moments you weren’t part of and feel connected to them anyway.

It’s impossible to remember every detail of your life, but photographs let you return to the feeling, and that’s what I care about capturing.

How it started

My dad’s interest in photography first put a camera in my hands back in 2015. What began as curiosity grew into studying photography from GCSE right through to university. Over the years, my belief has only deepened, photographs hold power.

Even in my personal life, I’m always documenting. Experimenting. Capturing my own loved ones. Photography has become my way of honouring memories, and that’s something I carry into every session I shoot.

How I work

I’m calm, observant and supportive.

My background in childcare shaped that more than anything; it taught me patience, adaptability and how to stay level-headed in busy or emotional moments. It also means I’m very good with children (and very unfazed by chaos).

I’ll guide you when needed, check in when it matters, and then step back so you can simply be. Most sessions only need small pockets of direction, the rest is about connection.

Clients often tell me I’m warm, professional and that I blend seamlessly into the day. That balance means everything to me.

Outside of Photography

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually listening to music, playing games with friends, diving into history, or exploring feminism and social conversations I find interesting. I think being curious about people and stories is what keeps me connected, and that curiosity feeds directly into how I photograph the world.

If you’re looking for documentary-style photography that feels fun, genuine and connected, with someone who will quietly support you throughout, I’d love to tell your story.
